What can we say about his fantastic coffee - it's just beautiful.
Guatemala beans are a strong-flavoured coffee with a bright, juicy cup.
This magnificent lot has a refined and balanced berry acidity and a long, dark chocolate finish.
Guatemalan coffee is known for its exquisite flavour and subtle nuances, making it highly regarded among coffee lovers worldwide.
They are grown in a perfect microclimate - high altitude, rich volcanic soils and ideal weather conditions of warm days and cool nights.
No wonder the coffee tastes fantastic.
When we started our coffee journey all those years ago, Guatemala produced amazing lots from both Huehuetenango and Antigua.
Historically, Antigua was known as the flavor powerhouse due to the bold cups of rich, dark chocolate.
However, as times passed, Antigua's coffee trees aged and were not renewed with hardier varietals, especially since Roya (Coffee Leaf rust) outbreaks continue.
Guatemala suffers from a relatively poor economy, there is considerably poverty and in some cases farmers don't have sufficient resources or funds to tend properly to their crops after the harvest.
Huehuetenango has continued to go from strength to strength and today is the primary growing region in Guatemala.
We have always prefered Huehue's over Antiguas and this lot is from a superb and trusted farm we have sourced each year since 2015.
A great Huehue will produce exceptional sweetness and one of the cleanest cups from any origin/country.
High levels of flavour combine with balanced acids to deliver exceptional complexity that we believe works a treat in milk-based espresso beverages.
