Limited Release Estate Coffee Beans

Sometimes it is hard for us to get a message across about coffee without referring to wine as a comparison or indicator. This is because people are generally more educated or aware about wine standards than coffee.

A limited release estate coffee, or a single estate coffee is sourced from, as the name suggests, a single coffee estate. So it is like a single estate vintage reserve say, in wine terms.

A misconception people have is that Brazilian coffee beans for example, all tastes like Brazilian style coffee. But there are many more complexities than that. Of course different growing regions have different climates, and different conditions. Besides, do you know how big Brazil is?

Single Estate Coffee Beans

It can be difficult to get single estate coffees, as a lot of the coffee exported around the world goes through a broker. To get single estate coffees, you often need to know someone who can get it for you.

Also like wines, the quality and taste of coffee from the same place from year to year is going to change. This can be due to weather conditions, when it is picked, and other natural or human influenced factors. Coffee is a fresh food like any other fruit remember. So tastes vary and great vintages also run out.

Single estate coffees have a distinct flavour and if you try the right one that suits your tastes, then it may be the nicest cup of coffee you make for a while.
