Cafetto is the world's leading brand of espresso machine cleaners - a brand you can trust.
It's also manufactured here in Australia.
Specially developed for use with commercial, domestic espresso machines in routine maintenance of back flushing operations.
Cafetto was developed specifically for removing coffee oil residue from group heads, filter baskets, handles, dispersing screens, and 3-way pressure valves associated with espresso brewing.
Cafetto can also be used to remove coffee from associated parts and surfaces.
Caution: As with all chemical cleaning products, please take care of special surfaces if the cleaning agents permanently damage, deteriorate the appearance, or mark the surface.
It is generally safe for stainless steel and coated brass or copper.
How often
We recommend that chemical cleaning occurs at most once a week in a domestic situation.
Preparing 2 to 3 cups of coffee daily, once a month, is generally sufficient for the average household.
In commercial cafes, the cleaning cycles will depend upon the volume of coffee produced with the equipment.
For higher volume cafes, chemical cleaning daily may be necessary, particularly when more than 5kg of coffee is used in the espresso machine.
All espresso chemical cleaning products have a "use-by date."
Used-by dates refer to the life of the active ingredients, and their effectiveness may diminish past that date.
What it's not designed for
This espresso cleaner detergent breaks down rancid coffee oils adhering to the espresso machine group area (and portafilter handle basket).
It is not a boiler de-scaling solution, so please do not use Espresso cleaner to de-scale your boiler or kettle.
We have a different product for that use - please refer to our Dezcal product for de-scaling boilers and steam lines.
This espresso-cleaning detergent is also not suitable to remove milk scum.
We also have another product for that purpose. Please refer to our liquid milk cleaner product for removing milk scum from steam wands and milk jugs.
