Grand Cru Coffee Beans
We enjoy a distinct advantage by holding one of Australia's largest range of fresh coffees. Our stock includes coffee beans from every growing origin (with a few minor exceptions). We now have what we refer to as our Grand Cru coffee range.
At times, we hold more coffees than Tier 2 and Tier 3 raw coffee brokers.
Coffee has many similarities to the wine industry. This can include the soil and climate of growing conditions, how the farmer manages their crop and the processing of the product. Coffee roasters can face similar challenges to a winemaker too. Such as creating products with the best available quality, or specific target outcomes.
Roasting coffee forces you to constantly review the performance of your coffees. This is necessary to make blends and adjust the roasting process to suit specific beans. Sometimes, there are beans that have proved fabulously popular amongst our customers, or a coffee bean may elicit many memorable moments.
What does it take to make the Grand Cru Coffee list ?
Previously, we have had our Reserve and Limited Estate coffees. They represent unique, or high quality examples of an origin, or specific bean type. Now, our Grand Cru coffee beans have been selected not because they are hyped up by judges or experts, and not because they might have a particular academic, (or what we may refer to as highly subjective) technical point score.
Grand Cru coffee bean candidates are selected based on a really simple criteria. The performance and feedback from the most important judges, you, our valued customers.
