Kenya sets the pricing system for their coffee via the government controlled Auction system.
This means farmers receive the price they expect - if the buyers don't wish to pay the price, the farmers don't sell, hold their coffee until the buyers meet the market price. For this reason, Kenya is rather unique in the way the coffees are traded.
Unfortunately, we have no choice but to pay the higher prices being asked for the best Kenyans - it's a simple case of demand far exceeding supply.
