Why Fresh is the only way to achieve the ultimate coffee experience
Everyone knows that fresh roasted coffee is critical for maximum enjoyment and this should also be true with the right choice of Nespresso-compatible coffee capsules. Nobody beats us on freshness - it's a reason we are the largest online provider of quality coffees in Australia.
We have been creating single-serve, portion-control coffee for more than 13 years and this is our 5th generation Nespresso compatible coffee capsule product - it's also our best.
Did you know there are less than 6 coffee capsule plants in Australia - so with more than 1,200 capsule sellers trying to desperately convince you their products are high quality and fresh, fact is very few of them actually roast coffee and almost none of them own or operate capsule processing plants.
How do the other capsule sellers control quality ?
Simple - they can't and more to the point they are forced to buy their capsules made in bulk by a contract converter to save money, so it's often 3 - 6 months old which translates into a stale product.
We are one of the few fully vertically integrated capsule providers in Australia - importing specialty grade and fully certified raw coffees, roasting in our world-class facility, carefully controlling the critical degassing in specialized chambers, advanced grinding mills and our customized capsule plant producing the highest soluble coffee capsules.
This enables us to create a fresher product, with higher flavors and amazing aromas.
We only work with high-grade 100% arabica coffee processed in an advanced co-polymer capsule base providing equivalent oxygen barrier protection to aluminium.
You may also be surprised to discover that most of the environmentally friendly bio capsules available for sale actually fail to adequately retain the essential volatile compounds in fresh roasted and ground coffee inside the capsule.
That's right, when fresh roasted coffee is ground there is less than 15 minutes before approx. 70% of the essential volatile compounds in the coffee are lost through oxidization.
Bio capsules promise great benefits at disposal, but the fact is today they still don't provide effective barrier protection which means the coffee is going stale the moment it's produced. It's also a reason why Nespresso genuine capsules are made of aluminium because it's crucial to preserve the volatile compounds of fresh roasted coffee.
You will never see anything this fresh in the supermarket, retail stores or other web sites offering capsules for Nespresso-compatible systems - we roast coffee every day, 6 days a week and you only need to ask our coffee bean customer how amazingly fresh our coffee is when they receive it.
Too often sellers of coffee claim their products are 100% Arabica but many are not being honest
Customers tell us our capsules are superior to anything else on the market.
Our capsules taste sweet - not bitter, never bland or harsh and it's all due to our prevailing strategy of using only 100% arabica - compared to the rest of the market that sadly believe burning dark roasted robusta is the only answer to creating sufficient "bite" in a capsule.
The robusta used by other capsule sellers is in fact grown at low altitude with huge amounts of chemicals - absolutely drowning in pesticides and fertilizers.
Robusta is a key element used in almost all coffee capsules and pods along with energy drinks and instant coffee.
Fine quality arabica coffees only grow at high altitude, where the air is thin, cool and pests are literally non-existent.
We don't like robusta, never have and doubt we ever will. After working with coffee for over 40 years, we know how to roast arabica for the best results.
Robusta tastes like wood, rubber and tar and we simply just don't need robusta because we know how to select the right quality arabicas and more importantly we know how to roast it for optimal flavour, sweetness and balance.
Why drink capsules filled with robusta and dangerous chemicals.
We have used all our best arabica coffees and significant resources into perfecting a balanced capsule experience - we are limited by the grammage of the dose in the Nespresso specification - so we can't put in more ground coffee because that will result in a brew failure.
To make it work requires coffee that is heavily engineered for this special purpose.
Our deep experience in this market (we are also the #1 online supplier of ESE Coffee Pods and premium coffee beans in Australia) provides an unmatched level of product development and quality control to ensure your capsule delivers a rewarding experience.
We are confident our capsules will produce a quality extraction from your Nespresso* compatible capsule machine and offer a degree of versatility across both black and milk-based brews.
Customers tell us you can actually drink our capsule coffee black - it's AMAZINGLY sweet and we see them returning regularly for more capsules.
For those of you who can't add milk or don't like milk in their coffee, we have the solution for you.
In milk, it's important the acid balance and flavour can persist. We have engineered our capsule to have a slightly acidic balance as we know around 90% of coffee drinkers add milk.
Buy a 2x bags of 15 (30x total) premium grade fresh-roasted Australian-made Nespresso compatible Organic coffee capsules.
We roast the Organic coffee for these capsules in small batches and it's converted in our own capsule plant to ensure freshness.
We thoroughly clean the processing plant (de-gas chambers, grinders, transport, capsule machine, etc.) between production runs of Organic, Decaf and standard coffees to ensure there are no trace elements retained.
This is our strong commitment to ensuring complete purity of our product - we are not a contract processor like all the other capsule converters in Australia, we only process our own products.
Nespresso-compatible "classic" capsules
Our coffee capsules are suitable for Nespresso classic type capsule machines.
The mycuppa.com.au coffee capsules are NOT suitable for MAP, Lavazza, Aldi, Caffitaly, Dulce Gusto or the large proprietary Nespresso commercial/automatic systems typically installed in hospitality or beverage outlets.
About 80% of the capsules sold in Australia are produced overseas, mainly in Switzerland or Italy.
Our capsules are roasted here in Melbourne, Australia by us at mycuppa.com.au in our best-in-class roasting platform, the coffee is then stored in high-tech degassing chambers to reach the ideal levels before being converted in our own in-house capsule plant.
This ensures we control every stage of the product development locally - nothing is out-sourced.
It's our overall approach to freshness compared to the majority of imported coffee capsules currently sold in the Australian market is what sets us apart.
Capsules are an easy to use, pre-packed serving of coffee that ensures consistent flavour, aroma and strength with a minimum of mess.
Capsule solutions are perfect for the home or business environment were a quality cup of coffee can be created easily and effectively without the skill or maintenance required from traditional espresso equipment.
Shipping and Packaging of coffee capsules
Our capsules are precision manufactured and packaged into an advanced co-polymer capsule base.
We have the industry's best performing capsule base with an OTR rating of 0.0004 cm3/day/capsule giving an effective shelf life of greater than 12 months before reaching 2% O2 level. This performance is on average 10 times better than bio capsules.
Our capsules have equivalent oxygen barrier protection to aluminium, yet the materials used in the construction of the co-polymer capsule base require less than 30% of the carbon footprint compared to aluminum.
Each bag contains 15x 100% arabica coffee capsules and ships in a plain carton for protection.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU MUST READ BEFORE PURCHASING - COMPATABILITY WITH YOUR CAPSULE MACHINE
The term capsule and pod are largely overused words in the coffee industry and people often confuse and interchange when asking or talking about capsules and pods.
It's easy to be confused as capsule and pod machine manufacturers can be often be vague or deceptive when marketing their equipment.
The use of broad terms like support for capsules or pods without stating which standard applies is terribly lazy by equipment makers and it makes the job of sourcing consumables more difficult for customers.
Please be sure you know your own machine model and what type of consumables it uses.
We are a capsule manufacturer producing products to suit Nespresso compatible machines that use the "classic" capsule such as Inissia, Essenza Mini, U, Lattissima One and Touch and Pro, Expert, Prodigio, Citiz, Pixie, Old Essenza, Kitchen Aid and Creatista systems.
If you own a MAP, Philips Senseo, Aldi, Lavazza Blue, Illy, Caffitaly or Dulce Gusto equipment - those machine definitely will not work with our mycuppa Nespresso compatible coffee capsules and you are advised to contact your equipment seller for details on where to source consumables.
Our capsule base is certified internationally by HANSECONTROL.
Nespresso commercial automatic capsule machines will NOT work with our mycuppa Nespresso compatible coffee capsules. These commercial Nespresso machines utilize a proprietary system - so unfortunately for the time beaing it'a lock-in arrangement whereby you must purchase consumables directly from Nespresso.
Before you purchase a box of our mycuppa, organic Nespresso compatible coffee capsules, please check your owners manual or if you are in any doubt, please confirm with your machine manufacturer or supplier as to the compatibility of coffee capsules.
We do not sell capsule or pod equipment, hence we are not able to inform you on whether your machine suits our capsules.
As you can appreciate, we are not in a position to test or validate our capsules on the every increasing range of equipment that is sold in Australia or other parts of the world.
We can assure you 100% that our coffee capsules are made to the precise standard and that grind and dose testing has been expertly measured and adjusted during the capsule conversion process. This calibration process is performed on 10kg of coffee and 5 different capsule machines before the conversion run is commenced.
NOTE: We have found there are significant differences in operating performance amongst the various branded Nespresso capsule machines.
Even the same model machines from De Longhi and Breville (which are actually made by De Longhi under license anyway) can run at different temperatures and slightly different extraction times.
Temperature is the most important aspect in running a capsule machine and the differences observed have totally astounded us during side-by-side comparisons of same model equipment - some worked well, others not so.
We cannot be held responsible for any damage to your equipment.
Nespresso U machine customers please note:-
Customers owning the Nespresso U machines are advised to get a full extraction you will need to use the largest extraction setting and stop the pour once you have enough coffee.
Due to the design of the U machines, water can leak into the waste tray for the first few seconds until it builds up enough pressure. This is a machine design issue, not a capsule issue.
The other Nespresso machines are fine (except the commercial and automatic loading version) to just use normal extraction settings.
NOTE: the colour of the capsule base may change from time to time based upon our production inventory and availability of the materials from Europe as the capsule base is made outside of Australia.
For the purposes of illustration, we have shown the black capsule base in our images, but there could be orange, green, blue, red or white capsules. This does not impact the performance of the capsule or the coffee packed inside.
To buy the freshest organic coffee capsules you will find in Australia, it has to be MyCuppa.

It's not easy to develop a sweet tasting coffee in just 5.2g of ground coffee.
We have been doing single serve portion control for more than 13 years now and know that we have to use our best tasting, highest flavored arabica coffees in order to create some cup presence in such a small dosage application like a single serve capsule.
As one of only 6 capsule plants in Australia, we have a full lifecycle control of the quality from raw coffee, roasting, de-gassing, grinding, conversion to capsule and retailing - we are the roaster, manufacturer and seller with no 3rd parties involved, eliminating the storage problems that cause coffee to go stale.
This full vertical integration is what sets us apart from every other capsule seller in Australia and enables us to manage the freshness in an entirely different manner, ensuring you receive the best possible capsule experience available.
Our sensational Peru Organic coffee is used as the feature for this 100% Organic certified coffee capsule.
We love the dark chocolate and long toffee finish.
