Blended Organic Coffee

Order our seasonal medium roast ORGANIC coffee beans, or if you require ground coffee, please select the grind type.

This coffee blend can be brewed as espresso, plunger, or filter coffee, making it highly versatile.

Our best-in-class Melbourne facility freshly roasts certified organic raw 100% Arabica coffees for blending.

The components of our Organic Blend vary throughout the year as a seasonal coffee product due to different crop and harvest times from the growing origins.

We only source freshly arrived raw/green coffees to expertly craft a smooth, rich and rewarding cup of coffee.

All our coffees are specialty grade - a quality level that exceeds most Cafe style and retail store coffees.

Our sourcing will include origins such as Papua New Guinea, Peru, Honduras, Ethiopia and Colombia at various times of the year.

Quality-assured Australian-based traders import these certified lots - to ensure certification credentials are authentic.

About Organic coffees

Some people have told us they have tasted Organic coffee from other suppliers and have yet to enjoy the experience.

After 40 years of working in the coffee industry, I've learned that the quality of the final product depends on both the ingredients and the skills of the roaster.

Proper management of both raw and roasted coffee is also crucial.

It's certainly not fair or accurate to generalize by claiming "Organic coffees taste different".

Organic coffees don't taste better or worse than non-organic lots.

Not even the best cup tasters can tell if a coffee is Organic.

It is a myth that Organic coffees taste better than non-organic coffees.

Like organic grown fruits and vegetables, Organic coffees may also have variable screen sizes (physical size and shape).

Variable screen size is a perfectly natural character of all coffees, regardless of Organic status. The variations in screen size can introduce greater cup complexity and flavours, improving the taste experience.

A variation in screen size affects Organic coffee more often due to the absence of chemicals, such as fertilizers and pesticides, that farmers might use to stimulate or control growth stages artificially.

A coffee bean's physical appearance, size or shape does not influence its flavour, sweetness or characteristics.

Skilled roasters with accurate profiles can quickly produce outstanding results.

These certified organic coffees are grown and produced without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

Essential details about Certification of Imported Coffees

Although a minimal amount of coffee is grown in Australia, it does not represent a measurable volume compared to the quantity imported.

For our discussion, we are referring only to imported raw coffee, not Australian-grown raw coffee.

All coffees served in cafes are imported raw and roasted locally unless declared explicitly by the cafe as Australian-grown coffees. It's rare.

We purchase all our green or raw coffees from a limited group of trusted, long-established, quality-assured Australian-based coffee importers.

These imported raw coffees are of similar ingredients used by other coffee brands.

Imported unroasted coffees have been grown, harvested, and processed overseas (picked, sorted, graded, pulped, washed, dried and packaged).

The raw coffees are shipped by exporting countries such as Brazil, Colombia or other coffee-growing regions to importing countries like Australia.

Raw/green coffee is an agricultural product produced outside Australia. Overseas certifiers like NASAA, USDA or Bio Latino may manage their organic certifications.

The Australian Certified Organic (ACO) Association does not certify imported raw coffees. ACO does not play an active role in the supply chain of imported natural/unroasted coffees.

The ACO is a membership program with licensing conditions.

Membership may require payment of annual licensing fees, administration and overheads in exchange for the right to use the logo or trademark images.

We are not members of ACO, so we do not use any trademarks or materials from the ACO.

Can claims of Organic status be trusted?

Unfortunately, the Organic food industry, not just for coffee but for many other ingredients or Organic products, continues to face many authenticity challenges.

It undermines consumer confidence, especially when the privilege of buying an Organic product typically also means paying a premium for this feature compared to a non-organic equivalent.

We think it's disappointing how easy it can be for dishonest suppliers and retailers to pass off (or misrepresent) products or goods as "certified organic" by claiming higher margins or to leverage a point of difference in the marketplace.

mycuppa only purchases certified raw coffees from quality-endorsed, local Australian-based coffee brokers.

Relationships with our coffee brokers date over a decade, based on trust and high-quality performance.

It's against our policy to spot-buying imported raw/green coffees from untested brokers. We simply never, ever do it.

Not only is it risky regarding product quality and financial loss, but the potential for brand reputational damage is too great.

Sadly, there are still too many scandals occurring within Organic supply chains.

You can buy safely from mycuppa - our business has been selling Organic certified coffees for over 16 years.

(ORG1000)

It may surprise you that Australia imports only a small amount of certified organic raw coffee.

So it's a small pond to fish from; often, we search and hunt for days or weeks to find something we like that meets our quality standards.

Often, we are planning 4 - 6 months as the certified lots tend to get snapped up quickly by coffee brands.

Remember, we are all competing for a limited number of lots, but after 16 years, we know how to play the game like pros.

mycuppa's Organic blend consists of the best lots we have on hand at the time to craft into a coffee that will deliver a superior cup across all popular brew methods.

Our blending philosophy for this beautiful Organic blend involves managing a smooth, creamy, rich and sweet balance.
